J. S. Bach and His Piano Pieces for Music Art Schools

The thesis "J. S. Bach and His Piano Pieces for Music Art Schools" is focused on interpretation of the piano music of Johann Sebastian Bach. For the right understanding of the composer's musical narratives, it is necessary to acquire the basic knowledge and principles of the music theory in the Baroque era and to become familiar with the environment in which this extraordinary composer had been professionally developing and composing. This musician is presented here as the founder of a modern fingering whose musical language brought a change into musical thinking and he became inspiration and a role model for composers of the next centuries. This thesis highlights the importance of appropriately selected musical materials in piano teaching and it prefers the performance to be as authentic as possible. The main purpose of this paper is to update the knowledge of methodology and to find a comprehensive guide to a correct understanding of musical language of this genius that would help the music teachers introduce to pupils the beauty and timelessness of Bach's musical work and that would motivate them to other musical discoveries and make them desire to be further educated in music.
Comparative Analysis of Interpretations of the St. John Passion by Johann Sebastian Bach

The main topic of the diploma thesis is comparison of selected interpretations of St. John's Passion by Johann Sebastian Bach. The part about life and work of Johann Sebastian Bach is followed by short analysis of libretto, choice of instruments and historic performances of St. John's Passion. The Final chapter deals with selected recordings of Bach's St. John's Passion - Karel Richter (1970), Nakolaus Harnoncourt (1985), Masaaki Suzuki (2000) and Raphaël Pichon (2013). Piano interpretation of baroque music at music schools

This thesis deals with piano interpretation of baroque music at music schools. The first chapter describes the specifics of baroque interpretation. This chapter contains nine subchapters which deal with following topics of baroque interpretation: expression, tempo, usual rhythm changes, ornamentation, basso continuo, posture and fingering, articulation and phrasing, dynamics and the last subchapter is about historically informed interpretation. The second chapter describes the beginnings of teaching polyphony. It mentions materials for the beginnings of teaching polyphony as well as some selected instructive pieces which can be used in teaching. The third chapter contains materials for teaching baroque music at music schools. The fourth chapter deals with pedagogical an interpretative approach to specific baroque instructive pieces from aforementioned materials and there are mentioned some general didactic principles too. The aim of this thesis is to understand the issue of interpretation of baroque pieces at music schools and to create a text that can be used as an inspiration for other students and young teachers of music at music schools. His work for stringed keyboard musical instruments 3. The use of Bach's work at Music schools for instructive purposes The aim of this thesis is focused on the work for stringed keyboard musical instruments of Johann Sebastian Bach and their use during lessons for beginning piano performers. This thesis gives piano teachers a choice of music collection for their students which teachers can make a selection especially for them. Number Symbolism in the Work of Johann Sebastian Bach according to Selected Literature

Title of the bachelor thesis: Number Symbolism in the Work of Johann Sebastian Bach according to SelectedLiterature This bachelor thesis deals with number symbolism in the work of Johann Sebastian Bach. The first chapter discusses the life and work of composer Johann Sebastian Bach and in chronological order describes important periods and events not only in his career. It focuses on the personalities and stimuli, which affected the composition of his works. The second part focuses fully on the symbolism of numbers, in general terms. It discusses the symbolic significance of the numbers and its development in certain historical periods. Also musical symbolism is discussed. This chapter introduces the various theories and writings about numbers, alphabets and number symbolism. Friedrich Smend, who was the first to identify number symbolism in the works of the Baroque composer, is also mentioned. The last part specifically deals with the Bach cantatas. It focuses mainly on the first cycle of cantatas presented in Leipzig. A few examples of cantatas that match numerically are given. Cantata Es reisset euch ein schrecklich Ende, BWV 90 is thoroughly analysed according to number symbolism.
